Who are the lil’ monarchs?

Lil’ Monarchs is a new animated series and comic strip. Set in urban Kansas City, the Lil’ Monarchs are a little league baseball team comprised of 9 unique and diverse youngsters — Manny, Champ, Sam, Abner, Kona, Josh, Curly, Tito and Aki. Together, through comedy and camaraderie, the players face the daily challenges of growing up. With the help of their coaches, Big Don and Puck, as well as several Negro League Baseball greats, the young players learn valuable life lessons whenever they are transported back in time to a bygone era through the “Magic Bat Time Machine.” Some of the Lil’ Monarchs story themes include: Loyalty, Enthusiasm, Self Confidence, Respect, Teamwork, Leadership, Sportmanship, Determination, Selflessness, Health and Hygiene, Preparation and Timeliness, Character Building and Following Rules.

Behind The Scenes

The Lil’ Monarchs project was created and established in 2007 by John Rittenour. In 2021 a limited liability corporation was formed for the purpose of producing a Lil’ Monarchs cartoon series that could be shown on broadcast or cable TV, or on the Web through one of the many streaming services. The series is designed to teach life lessons both on and off the baseball field to the series’ characters as well as the cartoon’s viewers.
